Sukkela is operated by Storyroots Oy (Finnish business ID 3604351-2), Helsinki, Finland, represented by Nicolas Dolenc. Storyroots Oy is the data controller for personal data processed through sukkela.life.

What this policy covers
This policy describes the Sukkela web app at sukkela.life and its subdomains.
Data we process and why
Approximate location (browser geolocation)
When you allow it, your browser shares an approximate location so Sukkela can center the map on you and show a relevant weather tip. Your location is used only in your current browser session, is not sent to our servers, and is not stored.
Tip payments
Tips are processed entirely by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and payment-card details directly inside its embedded checkout. We never see or store your card data. From Stripe we receive only confirmation that a tip succeeded, plus the amount and currency.
Hosting and server logs
Our hosting provider records standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and operations. These logs are retained for a short rolling window by the provider.
What we don't do
- No user accounts, sign-up, or login.
- No marketing emails or mailing list.
- No advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
- No third-party analytics or behavioral profiling.
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Legitimate interest — running, securing, and improving the service (hosting logs).
- Consent — your browser's geolocation prompt; you can revoke it any time in browser settings.
- Contract / your request — processing a tip you initiate.
Subprocessors
- Lovable — application hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing for tips.
Each subprocessor operates under its own privacy terms. Where a subprocessor operates outside the EU/EEA, standard contractual safeguards apply via that subprocessor.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection regarding your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutettu).
To exercise any of these rights, email nicolas@afoundersfriend.com. Because we don't run user accounts, most requests concerning a specific tip will need to be coordinated with Stripe, who holds the relevant payment record.
Children
Sukkela is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date below.
